Noelia paces back and fourth on the cobblestone floor in the light of the flickering candle fixtures and chandaliers above, a worried frown plastered on her young face. She stops when she hears heavy footsteps coming from the next hallway. She turns back to see the doctor, scarlet stains down the front of his tan shirt and single spots trailing on the pockets of his overcoat. She picks up her skirts and trots over to the man.
"Médico, tell me, what is the cause of my Lady's depleating health?" Noelia asks, her expression unchanging.
The man looks at Noelia with sadness in his eyes.
"I'm disheartened to say that the Countess has been lethally poisoned with a strong venom. That of the Asp Viper, I fear to take acount on." he answers.
Noelia's face becomes ash white.
"It appears that she has been given small amounts of it over the past week, and that it's been eating away at her health since." he continues.
"Your hypothesis is a chilling one indeed. But, you must be able to cure her, corect?" Noelia says, on the verge of tears.
"Nay, I have come too late. The venom has already taken hold of her heart. I'm afraid to say that the Countess will not live to see the morrow's morn." he, answers, a frown of depression linguring now on his face.
Noelia's worried frown becomes contorted and strained as emense tears begin to fall from her eyes and sobs of anguish fill the air as she sinks to the ground over the ruling of the young Countess's fate.
Above in the Countess's bedchamber, she lays quietly in the soft gleam of candalbras and the soft beam of the moon's light, her breathing strained and course as her failing lungs try to bring air into her body. Suddenly, there's movement in the shadows of the entryway. A moment later, a boy, no older then 18, walks into the light of the moon and candles. He's tall, a little more then 6 feet, and he bears nothing on his body other then a simple shirt tucked into cotton riding trousers, and egyptian style sandals. He walks over to the Countess's bed and looks over her. Her long, straight, chestnut brown hair lays messily on the pillow, dampened by her feverous sweat. Her clear, olive skin, is now close to ash white, making her freckles become more dominant. He then looks farther down. She had been stripped of her overskirts and corset, left in a simple silk shirt and her last underskirt, porbably for her inspection by the doctor. All that was left from her original outfit is the black ribbion choker around her neck, which from it hangs a rainbow colored opal lined with solid gold. He gazes back at her face.
"Liliana..." he says, wiping the drops of sweat from her forehead, then coressing her pale cheek.
"Forgive me, my love. It is because of my want to prove myself to your father that you are this way. If I just had not gone to the sister island, you would of never become ill and weak." he says as he gets to his knees next the bed, putting his hand in her's.
Suddenly, Liliana tightens her grip on his hand. Slowly her eyes flutter open, reveiling her bright crystal blue eyes.
"Edmundo..." she whispers, her voice cracking.
"Liliana!" he says, surprised and relieved.
"It is alright. It is not your fault. You went to Majorca...to prove to Father that...you could take care of me as a husband."
"But Liliana..."
"No buts, it is that fact that made me...go against my arranged marriage to Duke Hernan...it was so that we could be together..." she says, smiling.
She lifts her free hand and moves his blonde bangs from in front his pale green eyes.
"But, the doctor, he said-"
"I am not deaf. I heard his verdict on my fate."
Slowly, she reaches around the back of her neck and unties the ribbon hanging around it, and holds it up above her face. He looks up at it too. The remarkable gem flashed and gleamed, catching every speck of light in the room in each of it inner colors.
"Edmundo..." she says.
"Yes?"
"Take the Serene Opal and hide it in a place where it will never be found." she whispers, shakily handing him the necklace.
"Why?"
"That gem has the power...to ultimatly save or destroy this world. And I intend on making sure that...it can never fall into the hands of demon-hearted men. So, to protect it, you must hide it, where no human...or beast can ever find it."
"Why not just destroy it?"
"Nay, it cannot be destroyed. Eions and Eions...of existense have made it...indestrucable."
Suddenly, Liliana begins to cough hard, making her jerk in the bed. Blood spats from her mouth.
"Liliana!" Edmundo cries as he takes her in his arms.
As her fit declines, her breathing begins to slow.
"Ed..mundo,..I can't see." she whispers, even quieter then before.
His breath catches. She was in her final moments.
"You're so warm..."
"Liliana..."
"Ed..mundo, promise me...you'll do what I asked?"
"Of course.."
"Gracias, now I can leave with no regrets...but one."
"What's that?" he asks.
"No being able...to answer to the name...Liliana Abelidro..."
He freezes, as she says her name with his last.
"Adiois,...Te Quiero(I love you), forever Edmundo..."
"Liliana, Te Quiero more then God loves this world. I cannot live without you." He says, tears forming in his eyes.
"It is alright...do not lose hope...we will be together again one day...I promise..."
And will that, her eyes close, she breaths her last breath, then becomes limp in his arms.
Finally, his strength breaks, and Edmundo sobs into her hair, clutching Liliana's necklace tightly in his fist.
In the shadows, a women breaks her silent gaze and walks away, wings spreading as she vanishes down the dark hallway.

Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana
Market Street, Monument Circle
"Where the heck is she?" Daniel Peters, owner of team 4Royalty Racing, yells into his Iphone 4 Bluetooth.
"We don't know, Sir. We think that she left her mom's house outside of Indy about an hour ago." Ricky Tims, 4Royalty Racing Time Manager, says through the bluetooth.
"I don't want to know what you "think". I want to know what you "know"! My star driver is supposed to be here doing a photo shoot for the 2011 Indy Racing League Season, but she's not. Now, seeing as how it's your job to keep her on time, tell me. WHERE IS SHE!?"
"I truly don't know Sir."
"Well, you'd better figure it out, or else your butt will be out of a job!" Peters yells as he ends the conversation.
"Still having difficulties finding her?" Penny Hicks, Peters' personal assistant, asks as she hands him a Starbucks coffee.
"Yup, she's fallen completely off radar. No one can find her. I swear, sometimes these guys act as dumb as a bunch of elementary kids. Heck, I beat my niece, Auna, could find her faster then some of these guys, and she's only 9 years old!" Peters says as he takes a sip of the drink.
"They're doing all they can right now Sir." Penny says as she takes his Iphone 4 and places it into a holder on her electronics belt.
"Well, it's not enough. I mean, how hard could it be to find one 18 year old?" Peters says.
"Naomi is no ordinary 18 year old, Mr. Peters." Penny says.
"She is in my book. She acts just like my daughter, Hannah, when she was that age. All that's different is that she has a great sense in how to drive a car. That's it. Nothing, Zilch, None-" Peters says.
"Incoming!" a worker yells, interrupting Peters.
Suddenly, a neon green motorcycle with teal accents runs threw the corner and turns sharply to the left, straight towards Mr. Peters and Penny. As the vehicle speeds towards them, the driver turns to a cart that ends up becoming a mini ramp, lifting the motorcycle and driver 5 feet in the air, then landing only two feet from Mr. Peters, turning and stopping just before impact.
"Ohmygod!" Peters yells in surprise.
"Hey, sorry I'm late. Decided to drive down memory lane and lost track of time." A voice says under the shade of the Teal helmet.
The driver puts down the kickstand and withdraws their helmet. Long, straight, chestnut brown hair falling out of the confined space leads to reveal a high ponytail, hazel eyes, freckles, and a smiling girl.
The girl makes a military salute.
"Naomi Kingsfer, ready to begin the photo shoot." she says, then lowers her hand.
"Naomi, will discuss your tardiness later. Until then, make up for by getting dressed and taking some great shots." Peters says as he begins to walk away.
"Aye Aye, Sir." Naomi says, then laughs.
Suddenly, a hand grabs her forearm and pulls her away.
"Where the heck were you?" a familiar voice says.
Naomi looks up to see Kaylee Hendriks, a friend of hers and her personal manager, tugging her to the clothing tent across the street. Her red, curly hair bounced up in down in a loose bun. As Kaylee's looks back at her, her blue eyes scare the crap out of Naomi, being slitted and angry, and all.
"IDK, first I was coming back from Plainfield. But when I got off the interstate and was heading west on Market, I saw a sign that said that all the stores on Massachusetts were having sales, so, thinking I had time left, I went over there to check things out. Then, it's kinda a blur-"
"Naomi! This is the third time that you've been at least an hour late to something in the past two weeks. What the heck is going on with you?" Kaylee asks as they arrive to the tent.
Naomi looks around to see at least 10 or 11 outfits hanging on hangers with matching shoes and accessories.
Kaylee notices that Naomi is no longer paying attention and grabs the first outfit and hand it to her. It was a short sleeved Aeropostale square-neck, flower print, ruffled blouse matched with Hollister skinny jeans, white hobo cut biker gloves with pink trim, hot pink converse with her name "Naomi Kingsfer" written in ink on the outward sides, hot pink hoop earrings, a few simple diamond rings, and a diamond chain charm bracelet.
"Put this on and meet me at the Hair and Make-Up tent." Kaylee says as she pushes the beaded door out of her way.
Naomi nods as Kaylee exits and she sighs.
"Man, can no one cut a girl a break?" Naomi says as she unzips her fitted leather jacket, revealing her zebra-print tank top.
Suddenly, a cold jolt went up her spine and she gasps. She turn and looks back towards the beaded doorway. Then, a vision of a ribbon choker with a beautiful rainbow colored opal lined with gold popped into her head. She blinks a few times, then looks over her shoulder again. No one is there.
"That's weird. I swear I felt a cold breeze. I must be going nuts." Naomi says as she takes off her tank to reveal her green bra and flat stomach.
She then looks back towards the exit one more time.
"But that was a pretty necklace. I wonder where I've seen it before. It looked familiar." she says to herself.
Within 20 minutes, Naomi is walking out of the hair and make-up tent with light pink smoky eyes and her hair down, crimped, and a little frizzy, in her awesome outfit. Perfect.
As she got onto the set of the picture, she heard someone running up to her from behind.
"Naomi, Naomi!" Kaylee yells as she catches up to Naomi.
"What Kaylee?" Naomi asks as Kaylee tries to catch her breath.
"I forgot to give you your choker. I having a feeling you'll like it." Kaylee says as she holds out her hand to Naomi, only revealing a part of a white ribbon connected to a metal clasp.
Naomi takes the necklace and turns it over to see the gem. She gasps. It's a great white opal, lined with silver lining and a few diamonds on either side.
"What? What's wrong Naomi?" Kaylee asks, her expression turns to a concerned frown.
"It looks almost exactly the same as the necklace in my vision. But, for some reason, I can tell it's not the same one..." Naomi says to herself as she stares at the gem.
"What are you blabbering about?" Kaylee asks.
Suddenly, another cold jolt fills Naomi's body. She turns away from Kaylee and the opal and looks towards the corner leading to Indiana State Capital. Though it's barely noticeable, glitter like stuff floated to the ground, along with what looked like to be orange swan feathers, which was impossible, seeing as how 1. there are no swans even near Indy and 2. Swan feathers are white, not orange.
"Ok, now you're just be weird, here, I'll put it on you." Kaylee says as she grabs the necklace from Naomi and strings it around Naomi's neck, silently clasping the ends together.
She then turns Naomi back to look at her and smiles.
"It looks amazing. It's like it made for you." Kaylee says.
"Uh, thanks."
"Ok, now stop blabbing and get snapping, you've got a photo shoot to rock!" Kaylee says as she turns Naomi towards the set and pushes her, laughing as she did.
Naomi trips over her feet, but luckily catches herself before she falls. She looks back at Kaylee and gives her an goofy, irritated stare.
"You look beautiful dear, now pose like you always do, and lets get this outfit done quick so that we can move on quicker." the photographer says as Naomi looks away from Kaylee.
"Kay." Naomi says.
Then, within moments, Naomi is no longer focused on the gem around her neck. Now, she's shifted into model mode, and she rocked it.
As Naomi did pose after pose of pure grace and sexuality, a women watches from the distance. She makes a small grin.
"My Queen Calankaiana, My Princess Icicene Cocratius, My Empress Hikaheme Nukutai, My Countess Liliana Pazitis. I have finally found you."
